This square abstract artwork is painted in a limited palette of yellow and grey.
As I built up layers and strokes on this painting, I started to see an impression of sheet music and staves. So I went with this feel, adding in some collage pieces of music and some handwriting for extra context, texture and interest.
I love the way the yellow and grey values interact together, with just a few touches of orange here and there. And a little purple mark to catch your eye. It's a striking piece and the yellow naturally gives it a hint of summer vibes, hence the name.
